The Wardlaw-Hartridge class of '04 and the Stevens family have established the Max Stevens Foundation to provide scholarships and other student aid to highschoolers in the central New Jersey community who embody the example that Max set as an athlete, student and community-builder.
Previous awards, like the Max Stevens Leadership and Athletics Award at Max's alma mater, the Wardlaw-Hartridge School, have provided exemplary students with the opportunity to pursue higher education and leadership training while still in high school. Past recipients have expressed the practical and personal significance of the award:
Because of this award, I applied to the Columbia University one-week program and enrolled into the Supreme Court and Major Topics in U.S. Law program. I can't stop thinking how grateful I am for this opportunity. I'm in an accelerated learning environment with a passionate teacher and a class that cares about learning just as much as I do. I never would have been able to do this if it wasn't for the opportunity you created for me.
Contributions to the endowment of the Max Stevens Foundation provide continued support to outstanding students following Max's example. Donors can contribute directly to the Foundation either online by clicking the button below, or by making a donation in person at the annual Max Stevens Memorial Soccer Match.
